Parachute Assy GQ Type 450

The GQ Type 450/4000 Military parachute assembly is a lightweight emergency back/seat chair assembly, designed for use by pilots and aircrew of fixed wing aircraft and helicopters.

Parachute Assy GQ Type 450

The assembly is a slim profile back/seat chair type. Operation is by ripcord and canopy deployment is by pilot parachute.

Canopy:

The canopy is a 5.8m Aeroconical (US Patent 3758056). It comprises 20 gores block constructed with 20 rigging lines. Two net panels, located at the rear of the canopy, provide drive and turn. Control is via toggles.

Harness:

The harness is integrated with the pack for maximum comfort and flexibility. Two point attachment is provided, the leg
straps are secured by ejector snaphooks to D rings located at the chest position via loops on the harness main lift section. Adjustment is achieved by the sliding bar adjustable ejector snaphooks fitted to the leg straps. Capewell releases are fitted to allow release of canopy if dragged on landing.

Pack:

The pack is a back/seat combination with a slim profile. Tabs fitted to the pilot chute and the kicker plate are secured by the closure loops to ensure that the pilot chute cannot move position whilst in service.

CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS:

Harness and lift webs: Abrasion resistant 6000 lb nylon webbing, Specification MIL W 27265 Type VII. Canopy: 1.1 oz ripstop nylon. Rigging and vent lines: 450 lb braided nylon cord type.
