CSPEP MK3

The Carrying Straps Personal Equipment Parachutist (CSPEP) has been developed as a method of carrying parachutists’ equipment in a compact shaped load weighing up to 54 shaped load weighing up to 54 kg (120 lb). CSPEP weighs less than 3 kg (6.75 lb), is easy to pack and one action only is required to transfer the load from the parachute harness to the suspension rTohpe eCS. PEP

CSPEP MK3

The CSPEP comprises:

  • Carrying Strap Assembly: A cruciform arrangement of webbing straps. It fully encloses and retains the parachutist’s personal equipment in a compact shaped load. To facilitate rapid action on the ground, the straps incorporate quickrelease buckles.
  • Release Assembly: Attaches the load via the carrying strap to the parachute harness by two snap hooks. A single action, one-handed release mechanism positioned on the right enables the load to be released and suspended below the parachutist prior to landing.
  • Leg Restraint Strap: Holds the equipment load to the parachutist’s leg whilst in the aircraft and during the exit manoeuvre. The strap is automatically released when the load is lowered. Suitable for port or starboard exit.
  • Suspension Rope and Jettison Device: The suspension rope is a 4,6m (15 ft) length of nylon with a spliced loop at each end.
  • It suspends the equipment load below the parachutist after release. The jettison device or karabiner allows the parachutist to release the load in an emergency.
