The SV-2B Survival Vest provides maximum useful storage for survival equipment with minimal bulk and weight. The survival vest allows for integration of a life preserver, anti-g suit or chest mounted oxygen regulator. When worn, the SV-2B will not interfere with use of either the oxygen regulator or integrated-type parachute harness. It is constructed of nylon cloth. An adjustable harness, leg straps and an entrance slide fastener provide a means of fitting and securing the vest to the aircrew member. Elastic straps at the rear allow greater comfort and mobility for the wearer. Pockets are provided for stowage of survival items. The SV-2B is designed for use by all aircrew men, except when small arms protective armor is worn.
The Navy Pilot’s SV-2B Survival Vest is made from rugged nylon duck with a heavy duty front zipper.
Internal compartments are protected by large zippered closures. The vest includes attached knife sheath and pistol holster.
